We came out from our hike and found this wienie-mobile in the parking lot. All the rangers were delighted, and were also taking pictures and posing with the car. I guess its sort of isolated out here...
The Rio Grande gorge is half a mile wide here, and a quarter mile deep. Before the bridge went up, people had to drive a long ways around to get to Colorado. The structure of the bridge is impressive, and attractive - in an erector set kind of way - but the roadway is totally plain.
