Canada geese. Suddenly there was a flock of geese flying in front of us, and of course I'm clicking away. When we looked at the pictures later, I realized they were Canada geese - of which we have zillions of non-migrators near our home. But this was my best picture of the day for flying geese.
Sunset. We're waiting for the geese and cranes to fly back in.
Spectators on the Flight Deck
The bulk of the birds did not fly back in to this pond while there were spectators on the observation docks. After most everyone had left, a flock of snow geese came in and settled near the dock. This meant we knew there would be a close by flock for our second pre-dawn trip. Meanwhile, we got great sunset pictures.
Sun rise, day two. The nearby snow geese are starting to lift off.
